My father was also wounded on the same day in 67. He is no longer with us.  He wore his Black Horse proudly.  Thank you for your sacrifice.  My father was Timothy S Nye Sr.

My father served with the 11th ACR, Mco in Viet Nam in 1967.  His call sign was Mike 1-5.  He recieved two purple hearts, and numerous other decorations.  He was a tank commander.  He retired as a 1stSgt.  He passed away last month. He wore his Black Horse proudly.

My father, Timothy S Nye Sr. 1stSgt (Ret) a decorated two time purple heart recipient was PCS'd by the big man himself on June 13th of 2009.  He was a proud veteran, that wore his Black Horse patch every where he went.  He was wounded on December 24th of 1967 while serving with the 11th ACR, Mco 1-5 in a battle that eventually took his leg but not his spirit.  He was proud to be a tank commander with the 11th ACR.  Below I have attached a link to his obituary that will be active until July 21 of 2009.  Although he was in many units as a career soldier, he was always a Black Horse.  He will rest at Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington State.  Dad... You are greatly missed already.
